Nordi is a new webshop and portal for photography, created with the aim of increasing public and corporate awareness of high quality photography and graphic art. With Nordi, we create a strong brand, which distinguishes itself as a unique and innovative option for exposing and publishing contemporary art, with a clear standpoint on the environment and our surroundings. We are able to realize this through our cooperation and partnership with a number of organizations working with aid and charity, both at home and abroad.

With Nordi, we create an alternative to mass produced wall art. It is our aim that both private individuals and corporations have the option to decorate their surroundings with unique and meaningful works of art. A number of professional photographers from organisations such as World Press Photo and the National Geographic Society are already on our list of collaborators. We look forward to expand our network and presenting even more excellent artists in the time to come.

Nordi offers only quality products that meet gallery standard in terms of both design and production.

Art creates atmosphere, and art helps to express who you are. Good art evokes emotions, creates atmosphere and is inspiring. Whether it is large or small companies, hotels or restaurants, offices or in private, Nordi supports those who want to give their premises more character and use art to tell a story.

See the concept behind our great products, that visually brands your values:

Between 15 and 50 percent of all revenue created through exhibition and sale of art through the Nordi platform is directly contributed to a number of charitable initiatives. It is at the discretion of each individual contributing artist to identify and establish exactly which organization or charity the artworks support and why. Often the charity project is directly related to the artworks theme.

We give our customers a unique possibility to purchase art whilst simultaneously supporting a charitable cause. We wish to make this process completely transparent to all of our collaborators as well as our customers. All works of art are marked with a charity label and a QR-code (as shown on the photo). This code links to the artwork on the website, where it is possible to learn more about the story behind the art, the artist, as well as experiencing an in-depth presentation of the charity project and exactly how the donated proceeds are managed.

Our mission is our guide in every decision we make. Our mission is:

  • To show the World in a new light.
  • To create value
  • To inspire moments and induce emotions
  • To make a difference.

We want to be a pioneer in new ways of thinking, seeing the world from a new angle, new designs and art forms. It’s about being the favorite art portal for the discerning customer who chooses Scandinavian wall art, and which eventually can provide customer delight in everyday life – while contributing to a better world.

The beginning

Nordi was founded in a rebellious spirit and with an ambitious goal: to offer innovative wall art while making a difference.

Nordi is based on a strong interest in photography and graphic arts and is rooted in the Scandinavian tradition of design and visual aesthetics. With a desire to make this particular visual expression available to an international audience while contributing to a better world.

The idea to start Nordi emanated from a personal vision to spread awareness of engaging and breathtaking Nordic photographers, and thereby spreading the photograph as a recognized piece of art.

For almost 10 years I have operated a graphic agency that specializes in graphic design, photography and viral marketing, working professionally with photo assignments and graphic design.

During this experience I have worked for several companies, corporations and institutions where the wall decoration in meeting rooms and conference rooms has been tacky reproductions. At the same time, in the Nordic countries, we have some of the world’s best photographers who understand how to provide substance for thought and tell amazing stories with their captivating photographs.

From this arose the desire to create a new kind of gallery that specializes in discovering and representing the best in photography and graphic arts.

The unique north quality

All of Nordi’s artworks are produced by a professional photolab, adhering to gallery standards and supervised carefully. The individual artwork is numbered with a QR code, which links to the story of the artwork, background of the artist and an elaboration of the charity project.
We at Nordi place great emphasis on production development, so we never compromise the quality of the works and the artistic idea behind the work.
Photographs and graphic works can be produced in an unlimited number, which is why we at Nordi have chosen to use a limited edition, as this is of great importance to the art market. Nordi have contractually determined exactly how limited a work of art should be. This guarantees that Nordi as well as the artist do not produce more of this edition in the future.
For the two largest sizes, a certificate/voucher is included with the artist’s handwritten signature, as well as the title, format, date and limited edition number of the work. This makes the work of art an original and increases its market value. The certificate complies with international standards used by all major auction houses.

Nordi sells the artworks in four different formats, four different sizes and in two editions. The four different formats are; Square, Horizontal, Vertical, and Panorama. The four different sizes are Small, Medium, Large and X-Large. The product is sold in two different editions, where the size Small and Medium are sold in a “Limited Edition” of up to 500 copies of each type and the size Large and X-Large are sold as a “Limited Edition with Signature”, with a maximum of 150 copies of each size. However, some works will be sold in a Limited Edition according to the artist’s wishes.

Nordi’s quality is always first-class photo prints produced by the country’s best ink printers. It uses the highest grade Fine-Art Photo Paper, known for its remarkable durability and shine. Nordi does not compromise on quality or durability as high-tech printers triumph in all aspects of photorealistic imaging technology, even when working with more robust materials such as Fine-Art Paper. Inkjet printers have an extremely large color space that make them perfect for photo printing or printing large and small printouts.

We feel that the presentation of the artwork is part of the enjoyment of art and we therefore work with experts. All of Nordi’s works are produced as original art.

Our products are printed on demand and are custom made according to the finishing and design chosen by the costumer. The estimated production time frame is 7-14 business days.

Glass Mounted ARTWORKS

Glass Mounted on the back of 6 mm. diamond glass

The print is mounted behind diamond glass. It provides completely unique images with great depth and a very high quality. Only high-quality colorless diamond glass is used, which ensures that the images appear optimally.

The artwork is delivered with hanging mountings on the rear as well as a wall bracket, so it’s ready to hang up. An exclusive and trendy way to present the artwork.

Dibond sheet, 3 mm. Aluminum sandwich plate

Dibond sheets are thin and completely rigid sheets that are well suited for photography to be hung up as the sheet will never warp. The 3 mm aluminum Dibond sheet consists of a black polyethylene core sandwiched between 2 aluminum sheets. A three layer composite that ensures stability while maintaining a low weight, ensuring stability and durability as well as making oversized and panoramic formats possible.

Available in matte and glossy lamination. A matte lamination highlights the colors in the image and provides greater depth to the colors while a gloss lamination provides an incredibly glossy surface with a depth effect reminiscent of the glass mounting.

Nordis frames are made of solid wood in different colors. The frames are custom made with millimeters accuracy for each artwork. Nordi offers two types of frames: the classic photo mount frame and floater frame with or without glass. In addition, the possibility of framing with passepartout is available in black or white.

Floater Frame, 14mm spacing between the artwork and the frame

Is a frame without glass with a visible gap between the edges of the work and the frame’s internal edge of 14 mm. The artwork is mounted on a 3 mm thick mount that stabilizes and holds the frame in place.

Frame with elevated glass, 10mm spacing between the work and the glass

The image is adhered on a Dibond sheet and finished with a wooden frame. A 10mm space between the image and glass creates a beautiful look and ensures a long lasting image.

DINNødhjælp’s orphanage is a home to children accused of witchery. All of the children at the orphanage go to school as education is seen as being critical for their future development. The safe surroundings of school is also a way for the children to process a history of failure, violence and threats. Besides taking them too school, DINNødhjælp are working with the children every day with activities such as singing, dancing, playing and being creative. DINNødhjælp is a charitable organization founded in 2012 by volunteers, as a result there is no management to reward financially. Therefore, all fundraising and donations are contributed 100% to the projects. DINNødhjælp works compassionately and their main purpose is to support the world’s poorest and witchcraft accused children to a more dignified life.

We are a voluntary association that are fighting for children’s rights. Our primary purpose is saving the so-called witch children in Nigeria, where the belief in witches is a big problem. At the same time as we give the rescued children a good future, we fight against the superstition, so we in the future can prevent more children being tortured, and at worst killed.

In Central Africa there is a great lack of education – particularly for refugees, street children and former child soldiers. Oxfam IBIS works with setting up schools, training teachers and supporting the building of a school system. Education gives traumatized children an anchor in life and the opportunity to prepare for a better future despite great uncertainty.

In order to rebuild a society after conflicts, there is a need for educated citizens, who can read, write and calculate, and understand their role as democratic citizens.

Education is a human right, and education can not wait for peace. Today 125 million children do not get any formal education at all. This education crisis undermines any chance of rapid progress in human development. The power of people against poverty

SeaLegacy creates powerful media to change the narrative around our world’s oceans. Our mission is to inspire the global community to protect our oceans.

Our oceans sustain life on this planet and they are in peril. Many still don’t see or feel the effects of overfishing, pollution, and habitat loss. That’s where SeaLegacy comes in. We use the power of storytelling to create the change we want to see. Awareness is just the beginning. It is time to show the global community what is at stake. We must rally soldiers of support and ignite real and lasting change for our world’s oceans.

This is the story that SeaLegacy tells. This is the story that sparks a global conversation, and the story that inspires people to act. We believe that producing powerful media and art that gives people hope is imperative. Hope is empowerment. Hope is a solution. Hope is a game changer. We are a collective of some of the most experienced and renowned photographers, filmmakers and storytellers working on behalf of our oceans.

Every year, 200 Danish children are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is the most frequent medical cause of death of children older than 1 year. Today, four out of five Danish children survive cancer, but half of the survivors suffer from long term injuries from the disease and the severe treatment. The Danish Child Cancer Foundation is the one organization, who funds most Danish research in childhood cancer, and we dot it in order to enhance the treatment and care of children with cancer and thus the survival rates. And the effort pays off: Since the formation of The Danish Child Cancer Foundation in 1995, the overall survival rate of children with cancer has increased with almost 20 pct.

The Danish Child Cancer Foundation is a private, independent organization. We support research in childhood cancer and work to enhance the conditions and care of children with cancer and their families during the course of the disease.

In its first phase, FMA is focused on youths that have been imprisoned in Pademba prison. These minors want to return to normal society; some dream of studying, others want to find work even if their opportunities are scarce in one of the world’s poorest nations. The majority come from broken families that left their home or are orphans.

What we do

  • Offer help directly to incarcerated minors in Pademba prison and in juvenile prison.
  • During court, monitor the trials of minors coming from maximum-security Pademba Prison.
  • Offer legal assistance to incarcerated minors that arrive in court with serious allegations.
  • Pay the bail of youths incarcerated for minor offences. Many times, a bail of less than 50 Euros can avoid years of jail time.
  • Rehabilitation. We personalize the social reinsertion process for minors freed from jail. This can occur through the Saint Michael Center or through occupational therapy in auto mechanic workshops, sewing workshops, etc.
  • Provide a teacher to the juvenile prison. Work on this project has already begun in the Approved School of Freetown.

Sex & Samfund has been working in Kenya since 2011, focusing on family planning, sustainability and LGBT rights and health. Despite economic growth and good trading opportunities, the country suffers from great poverty, inequality, climate change and a problematic relationship with LGBT rights.

Population pressure combined with environmental challenges due to climate change makes it difficult to create sustainable development in Kenya. In a project at Lake Victoria, Sex & Society works with local partners for an integrated effort that includes family planning and sustainable farming practices.

Play31 works in Sierra Leone, one of the world’s poorest countries, which was ravaged by a brutal civil war and has recently been through a devastating ebola epidemic. Like the civil war, the ebola has divided rural communities and degraded the trust that is needed to make every community work and thrive. The lack of trust is also a result of poor governance and corruption. In particular, women and children suffer from lack of basic rights such as protection from violence and access to health facilities and education.

Play 31 uses football to unite and develop societies, divided by war, conflict and disasters.

Anima is a Danish animal welfare association, founded in 2000. We work for animals to be respected, not to be maltreated. This applies regardless of whether it is about pets, farm animals, fur animals, experimental animals or animals in entertainment.

Anima sets in where there is a need and we work targeted to achieve concrete results for the animals. We focus on influencing both politicians, businesses and consumers. Animas most important task is to be a voice for the animals as they can not speak for themselves.

Denmark’s active association for animal rights, for a world without animal abuse.

Dansk Flygtningehjælp (Dfh) works on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights with all aspects of the refugee case, with the overall goal of helping to create lasting solutions for refugees and internally displaced persons. Dfh understands lasting solutions like any action that can help create a permanent and tolerable solution so that the people they work with can live a normal life. As a Danish organization, they work for the Danish society to assume responsibility for the world’s refugees – both in the world’s focal points and at home. No refugee must miss help to find protection and lasting solutions.
